Windy Conditions Ahead

Discussion: Another trough will pass through midweek, producing cooler conditions for ~Wednesday. But before and after that look mild with temps into 60s for most areas. The arrival of the trough could produce some showers and thunderstorms late tonight/Tuesday. Saturday then looks like the warmest day of the week as ridging reestablishes but not without some more spring showers and boomers. Sunday then looks the most settled day of the weekend with temps back to the 60s.

Forecast

Monday (April 14) high temperatures reached well into the 60s for many locations. Coastal regions hung just under 60. Skies should remain mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should remain light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should fall to the 50-55 range with a few showers around, possibly even some rumbles in SNJ.

Tuesday (April 15) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s for most NJ locations. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds with showers and thunderstorms possible for afternoon/evening hours. Winds should be breezy-to-gusty out of the W. Overnight lows should fall to the 40-45 range as winds remain gusty out of the W.

Wednesday (April 16) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 50s for most NJ locations. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds…a few showers around. Winds should remain breezy-to-gusty out of the W. Overnight lows should fall to the 35-40 range as breezy/gusty winds sustain out of the W.

Thursday (April 17) high temperatures should just crack 60 for most NJ locations. Skies should be mostly sunny/clear. Winds should relax to just breezy out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should fall to the 30-40 range as winds subside.

Friday (April 18) high temperatures should reach into the 60s for most NJ locations, possibly taking a run at 70 away from the ocean in CNJ/SNJ. Skies should be mixed with more sun than clouds. Winds should be breezy out of the S. Overnight lows should fall to the 50-55 range as winds remain breezy out of the S.

An early look at the weekend (April 19-20) indicates Saturday being the warmest day of the week with many NJ locations into the 70s but clouds, showers, and possibly boomers around. Sunday looks more settled with temps in the 60s for most NJ locations. Have a great week and please be safe! JC
