A weak low pressure disturbance will bring rain to most of New Jersey this weekend. The rain should clear by Sunday afternoon-evening as the low pressure disturbance moves off into the ocean. It will then strengthen and interact with another low pressure system riding in on the northern stream. This should form a coastal storm that could impact the region early next week. Let’s look at the weekend first in English:
Friday will max out in the 40s with mostly cloudy skies and a light easterly breeze. Rain could start as early as noon and be on-and-off through the overnight. Temperatures should only fall a few degrees for overnight lows.
Saturday should range in the upper 40s (NWNJ) and low-to-mid 50s (rest of NJ). Winds will be light out of the south with on-and-off rain showers during the day. Heavier rainfall should fall overnight as lows drop into the upper 30s.
Sunday should range in the 40s statewide as everything clears out. The day could start wet but at some point we’ll see the sun. Winds should begin picking up out of the NE before overnight lows drop into the 20s (NWNJ) and 30s (rest of NJ).
All eyes then turn to the coastal storm that could hit New Jersey in the Monday-Wednesday period next week. I’ll be watching very closely and will keep you informed. Be safe and have a great weekend! JC
