New Jersey and surrounding areas will remain unsettled, warm, and stormy through Tuesday evening. A cold front should then move through and bring beautiful dry weather to close out the week. Let’s take a closer look:
Monday high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s for most. Expect humidity, clouds, showers, and possibly thunderstorms. Winds should be light out of the E which should keep the immediate coast cooler and posibly foggy. Overnight lows should fall into the upper-50s (NWNJ) and lower-60s (rest of NJ).
Tuesday should reach into the lower-80s for most (upper-70s for the coast). This will be the greatest chance of rain and storms all week. A cold front will be moving through Tuesday evening so we could see hot sun during the day followed by a chilly night. Expect light S/SW winds ahead of the cold front and then stronger NW winds once it’s through. Overnight lows should fall into the 50s statewide.
Wednesday should only reach 70 statewide. The cold front will be through so expect dry and mostly sunny skies with cool NW winds. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s statewide.
Thursday should reach 70 statewide. Expect a mixed bag of sun and clouds with only an isolated shower possible. Otherwise, it should feel very pleasant with light W/SW winds. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s statewide.
Friday should reach the low-to-mid 70s statewide for high temperatures. Skies should be mostly sunny with just a few friendly clouds around. Winds should be light out of the NW. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s statewide with a frost possibility for the higher elevations of NWNJ.
Memorial Day Weekend is looking pretty good right now with high pressure modeled to slide into the region. If I had to make a weekend forecast right now it would be warm and sunny for Saturday and Sunday with rain/storms possible Monday afternoon/evening. I’ll have a fully detailed weekend outlook posted Thursday AM.
