Unsettled, warm and sticky conditions give way to improvement by Sunday. Let’s break it down…
Discussion: 250mb winds remain well to our N as the jet stream holds an area of higher 500mb heights over our region. It should stay this way for a while (through at least next weekend) which will sustain the warmer and muggy conditions. It’s impossible to pinpoint the exact timing of rain and thunderstorms but they are possible pretty much on any day, favoring late-afternoon/evening hours. Since they tend to have an isolated nature, most will luck out while a few will not. A cold front should push through by Sunday. While it will not do much for temperature relief, it should tone down the humidity and storm threat for the Sunday-Tuesday period. By Wednesday we’re back to the hazy, hot and humid stuff. A nice break for the holiday!
Friday (June 30) high temperatures should reach well into the 80s for many. Areas away from the ocean have shot at low-90s. Skies should be partly-to-mostly sunny with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms floating around. Humidity should be noticeable. Winds should be breezy-to-gusty out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should struggle to dip below 70 statewide.
Saturday (July 1) high temperatures should reach into the low-to-mid 80s for most. Immediate coastal areas might struggle to break 80. Skies should again be partly-to-mostly sunny with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms floating around. Humidity will again be noticeable. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the S. Overnight lows should again struggle to dip below 70 statewide.
Sunday (July 2) high temperatures should reach well into the 80s for many. Areas away from the ocean have shot at low-90s. Despite continued warmth and humidity, skies should be mostly sunny and settled. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should fall into the 60s for most.
An early look at July 4th indicates pretty good conditions. It should still be warm but with bearable humidity levels. Not seeing any disruptive storms. We should then return to hazy, hot and humid conditions to take us into next weekend. All in all, run of mill July conditions. Everyone have a great weekend and please be safe! JC
