Warm but Dry and Comfortable

Discussion: Today (Friday) features weather conditions I’d like to bottle and save for a different time. Perhaps when Temps are 90+/Dews are 70+ or perhaps during a mid-winter Arctic outbreak. A few times a year this happens in NJ and all we can do is enjoy it while it lasts. The frontal boundary, that was stalled near NJ all week, has finally pushed offshore and we’re left with just warm temps and refreshing humidity (dews less than 60). It will stay this way into Saturday with a slow and gradual build back of hotter temps by Sunday. The entire weekend looks rain-free in NJ. The next batch of possible rain isn’t likely until Monday night into Tuesday. High pressure will be sliding through the N Mid-Atlantic US from W to E (over PA/NNJ/New England) during this weekend which will provide dry, sinking, and refreshing air (for July). A weak offshore disturbance will be nearby Monday which should further reinforce N/NE flow Sunday into Monday before the rain moves in Monday night. I guess you could say it will feel more like a warm and dry September setup today (Friday) through Monday rather than a late-July setup. I’ll take it though! Tuesday’s rain should mark the return of humidity for later next week into next weekend.

Friday (July 26) high temperatures should reach the mid-80s for most NJ locations away from the ocean. Elevations and coastal regions should continue hanging in the 75-80 range. Low humidity and clear skies are providing a delightful feel in the air after the humid week we’ve had. Winds should remain light out of the N/NW as overnight lows fall to the 55-65 range from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts. Amazing nighttime weather conditions IMO.

Saturday (July 27) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 80s for most NJ locations away from the ocean. Can’t rule out 90 in a few WCNJ/SWNJ spots. Coastal regions closer to 80. Lower humidity will continue the comfortable feel despite warmer temps. “It’s a dry heat lol” Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the N/NE. Overnight lows should fall to the 55-65 range from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts. Another beautiful day and night.

Sunday (July 28) high temperatures should reach near-90 away from the ocean and near-80 along the ocean. Skies should be mostly sunny with humidity remaining lower. A hotter day no doubt but still dry/non-sticky feeling. Winds should be light out of the N/NE. Overnight lows should range from about 60-68 from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts.

An early look at next week (July 29-Aug 2) indicates the nicer conditions spilling over into at least part of Monday. Clouds should move in by Monday night along with rain into most of Tuesday. The rest of next week into next weekend then looks hotter and more humid behind the Tuesday rain. Let’s take another look in a few days. Have a great weekend and please be safe! JC
