This week should start warm and end cool but feature a decent amount of rainfall and possibly thunderstorms. Let’s break it down.
Monday (April 25) high temperatures should reach the 70s for most. Slightly cooler along the shore and slightly warmer near Philly/Trenton. Breaking 80 somewhere in WNJ is not out of the question. Skies should feature a mixed bag of sun and clouds. Winds should be light and generally out of the S. Overnight lows should fall into the 50s for most with maybe the NNJ elevations dipping into the 40s. Overnight rain showers are possible, especially for NNJ and possibly CNJ.
Tuesday (April 26) high temperatures should reach the 70s for most including coastal regions. 80 is again possible away from the ocean. Rain and thunderstorms are possible, especially during early afternoon/evening hours. I’ll be live tracking and posting about such as gusty winds and frequent lightning are possible. Skies should be mostly cloudy otherwise. Expect noticeable humidity, especially under any sunny breaks in the clouds. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the SW. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most once the rain clears through. The coast could potentially hang on to the 50s.
Wednesday (April 27) high temperatures should struggle to break 70 away from the ocean and struggle to break 60 along the coast. Skies should be mostly sunny with a dry feel. Winds should be light out of the W for most while the shore could see an E breeze off the ocean. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most. NNJ elevations could fall into the 30s for an overnight frost.
Thursday (April 28) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 50s statewide. Skies should be mostly cloudy. More rain is expected but jury is still out on any embedded thunderstorm possibilities. Winds should be light off the ocean and otherwise tranquil inland. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s statewide.
Friday (April 29) high temperatures should just about reach 60 statewide. Skies should feature a mixed bag of sun and clouds with isolated spring showers possible. Winds should be light out of the E, a bit breezier along the coast and lighter for inland/elevations. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s.
An early look at the weekend indicates sunny highs in the 60s. As of now it looks like some great Saturday-Sunday weather before rain threatens the region again on Monday-Tuesday. Let’s revisit this mid-week. Everyone have a great week and be safe! JC
