Weather NJ is proud to provide a special event forecast for the third annual Makers Festival this weekend. The event is this Saturday, September 16th from 10AM to 6PM at Manahawkin Lake Park in Manahawkin, NJ.
“The mission of our festival is to highlight the underground current of Makers who are changing the landscape of production & consumerism in America, and more specifically, Ocean County where we live, work & play. It will be a day to celebrate the collective artistic endeavors of homegrown talent locally & beyond, and will feature over ten dozen Makers whose crafts include everything from handmade fashion, sculpting & woodworking, photography & fine art, craft beer, food and music.”
Entry to festival grounds is free. There is a $10 entry fee to the Biergarten which includes a complimentary mug and one free beer. A portion of event proceeds benefit Alliance for a Living Ocean, an Arts Scholarship at both Southern Regional High School & Pinelands Regional High School, the Stafford Historical Society, and Stafford Community Garden at Lake Manahawkin.

About the MakeShift Union
The Makers Festival was created by The MakeShift Union, made up of Erin Buterick, Dani Corso and Jeannine Errico. While at School of Vintage, Erin and Jeannine came up with this crazy idea for a Makers Festival. One day, Dani and her sister happened to come into SoV for a little wedding dress shopping and everyone quickly became friends. Erin and Jeannine shared their idea of Makers with Dani, and she jumped right on their crazy train of ideas, while simultaneously bringing her own. All three members of The Makeshift Union bring a unique vision and set of skills to the collaboration and have big plans for many more future endeavors.
The goal of The MakeShift Union is to help nurture and showcase homegrown artistic talent and business sensibilities while simultaneously providing a high-quality experience to the community. Our services range from hosting large scale curated events to helping other businesses bring their visions to life through consulting and curating.
Weather Forecast
The MakeShift Union picked another great September day for an outdoor event in Manahawkin, NJ. Skies should be partly-to-mostly sunny with a warm and slightly humid feel. I expect temperatures to be near 70 and rising when the event opens at 10AM before peaking in the afternoon around 80. By the time the event concludes at 6PM, temperatures should be in the mid-to-upper 70s and gradually falling. Winds should be light out of the E/NE. We can thank a weak area of high pressure approaching from the NW for these expected conditions.
I’ll be hanging out near the vendor tents of Greg Molyneux Photography (#133 on map), Reclaimed (Ben Wurst – #132) and LBIF (Jeff Ruemeli and friends – #134). You are most welcome to stop by and say hello!
