Nice Conditions

Discussion: This entire week in NJ should occur under positive height anomalies. This means mild conditions at the surface with little rain outside of passing spring showers here and there. The next rain system looks to arrive late Friday night and last for much of Saturday with improving conditions Sunday.

Forecast

Monday (April 21) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s away from the ocean but hang in the 50s near the coast. Skies should remain cloudy with a chance of passing showers. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the SE. Overnight lows should fall to the low-to-mid 50s with more passing showers possible into Tuesday morning.

Tuesday (April 22) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s for most NJ locations. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should range from 45-55 NNJ to SNJ.

Wednesday (April 23) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s for most NJ locations. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the W/NW. Weak onshore flow for coastal regions only could hold temps in the 60s. Overnight lows should fall to the 45-50 range NNJ to SNJ.

Thursday (April 24) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s for most NJ locations. 60s along the immediate coasts again. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should be light out of the E/SE. Overnight lows should fall to near-50 for most NJ locations.

Friday (April 25) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s away from the ocean and 60s along the immediate coast. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the S. Overnight lows should drop just below 60s with rain likely moving in.

An early look at the weekend (April 26-27) indicates a wet Saturday and improving Sunday, both with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Let’s take another look in a few days to see if the rain expectations have changed. Have a great week and please be safe! JC
