Mostly Nice Weekend Expected (Aug 7-9)
Once this pesky low pressure system slides out to sea we’ll be home free for the rest of the weekend. Let’s talk details:
Friday high temperatures should reach the low to mid-80s. NNJ and most of CNJ should stay dry with sun and clouds. SNJ is subject to light-to-moderate winds and rain (nothing crazy—on and off and more of a nuisance). Winds should be out of the E/NE, lighter for NNJ and stiffer along the coast. Overnight low should fall into the upper-50s in the higher elevations of NNJ and 60s for the rest of New Jersey. Watch out for rough surf.
Saturday high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 80s. Skies should be mostly sunny for NNJ and CNJ. Some departing clouds are still possible for SNJ but it will be dry. Winds should be out of the NE, lighter for NNJ and stiffer along the coast. Overnight low should fall into the upper-50s in the higher elevations of NNJ and 60s for the rest of New Jersey. Again, rough surf is possible with the coastal storm—out of reach—but only a few hundred miles out to sea.
Sunday high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 80s. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be out of the N/NE, lighter for NNJ and stiffer along the coast. Overnight low should fall into the upper-50s in the higher elevations of NNJ and 60s for the rest of New Jersey. Surf conditions should begin relaxing by evening hours so still use caution during the day.
An early look at next week indicates more dry 80s with plenty of sunshine to start followed by possible rain and storms Tuesday-Wednesday.
