Aside from today, the first half of the week looks great overall but rain showers and overcast skies could close out the week. We’ll have a coastal low pressure system to thank for that (impacts yet TBD) but it should leave a beautiful weekend in its wake. Let’s break it down:
Monday should reach about 60 statewide for high temperatures. Skies should be partly-to-mostly cloudy with a few rain showers here and there. Winds should be breezy out of the N/NW. Overnight lows should drop to the upper-30s (NWNJ) and 40s (rest of NJ).
Tuesday should reach the mid-to-upper 60s statewide. Skies should be partly-to-mostly sunny with stiff northerly winds. Overnight lows should drop into the 40s statewide.
Wednesday should reach 70+ statewide with mostly sunny skies. Winds should be much lighter out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should drop into the 40s statewide.
Thursday should reach the low-to-mid 60s with partly cloudy skies. Rain showers are possible all day but especially during afternoon hours. E/NE winds should be stiff off the ocean. Overnight lows should drop into the 40s statewide.
Friday should reach the mid-to-upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies and rain. An onshore flow will persist, keeping winds out of the NE for most of the day. The flow will switch to a northerly flow in-correlation with the synoptic setup. A coastal low pressure system is modeled but actual coastal impacts need to be ironed out as we approach. A far out miss would just keep it cool and damp while a closer track would mean more rain and wind. I’ll be tracking. Regardless, overnight lows should drop into the 40s statewide as skies clear out.
As of right now the weekend looks sunny and beautiful with highs in the 60s and 70s.
