Mixed Spring Conditions (April 15-19)
Discussion: We’re cooler today (Monday) in the wake of a cold front passage. By mid-week an area of high pressure should set up over the SE US and bring back the warmth via SW return flow. Another frontal passage attached to a strong low should move through in the Friday-Saturday period which could bring more severe weather to the area. Otherwise the week looks fairly uneventful from today through Friday morning and then from Saturday morning through this weekend. I’ll be tracking the severe thunderstorm potential for Friday-Saturday throughout this week.
Monday (April 15) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s for most. Skies should start mostly cloudy (stormy in early AM hours) and gradually improve. Winds should be breezy, sometimes gusty, out of the W/SW. Overnight lows should fall to near-40 for most.
Tuesday (April 16) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s for most. Skies should start mostly sunny and increase in cloudiness throughout the day. Winds should be breezy out of the W. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most.
Wednesday (April 17) high temperatures should reach near-60 for most. Skies should be mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks. Winds should be light out of the NE (breezier near coast). Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most.
Thursday (April 18) high temperatures should reach the upper-50s/lower-60s for most. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the SE. Overnight lows should only fall into the 50s statewide.
Friday (April 19) high temperatures should reach the upper-60s/lower-70s for most. Skies should feature some sun but I’m tracking some rain and thunderstorms. I’ll report more on this later in the week as storms have severe potential. Winds should be breezy out of the S. Overnight lows should fall into the upper-50s/lower-60s for most.
An early look at the weekend indicates mild temperatures with mixed conditions. That means highs in the upper-60s/lower-70s with mostly sunshine but some passing spring showers and thunderstorms. Let’s take a closer look in a few days. Everyone have a great week and please be safe! JC
