Discussion: The west side of an area of high pressure will keep great conditions going for New Jersey today (the rest of Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday). Sunday however is subject to a weak tropical low sliding up the east coast. It’s not a major coastal but more of a disturbance that could bring at least gloomy conditions to New Jersey on Sunday. At the very least we should see cloudy skies, breezy winds, and period of on-and-off light rain. If the storm tracks a little closer and/or stronger then we could see cloudy skies, gusty winds, and more of a moderate/steady rainfall. That seems to be the range for Sunday. On Monday we dry out and improve but then another coastal disturbance could clip NJ with at least some rain later/mid-week. We should then return to conditions more seasonably average by next weekend.

Friday (Oct 21) high temperatures should max out today in the low-to-mid 60s. Skies are currently mostly sunny and should remain clear tonight. Winds are light out of the W/SW. Overnight lows should range from lower-30s to mid-40s from elevations to coasts.
Saturday (Oct 22) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 60s. Let’s allow a few isolated instances of 70 somewhere for interior CNJ/SNJ. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should range from upper-30s to lower-50s from elevations to coasts as clouds move in by morning.
Sunday (Oct 23) high temperatures should reach the mid-60s for most areas. Skies should be mostly cloudy with periods of rain possible off the ocean. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the N/NE away from the ocean. Immediate coastal regions (ECNJ/SENJ) are subject to gustier winds (30-45mph). Overnight lows should hover in the lower-50s as rain and wind persist overnight.
This weekend in a sentence: Friday and Saturday look gorgeous but Sunday looks rainy and windy.
An early look at next week indicates improving conditions Monday but then more rain chances and possible mid-week with milder temps. Conditions should then return back to seasonably average for next weekend. Let’s see how it looks in a few days. Have a great weekend and please be safe! JC
