Colder Weekend Expected (Mar 4-6)
A colder air mass aloft will remain over head through Sunday with even some light snow possible. Next week however should break 70.
Friday (Mar 4) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 30s for most. Maybe 40 is broken. Snow should clear to the E by afternoon and we should see some sun before sunset. Lots of melting with higher sun-angle. Winds should be light for most out of the N/NE however the SENJ coast could see higher gusts due to proximity of the strengthening-but-departing coastal low. Overnight lows should range from teens for NNJ elevations to 20s for the SNJ coast.
Saturday (Mar 5) high temperatures should reach the upper-30s/lower-40s statewide. Skies should be partly sunny. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should fall into the 20s/30s.
Sat PM-Sun AM Snow Shower Discussion: Snow showers are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning from a trailing clipper on the back side of the colder air mass moving through. Light accumulations are possible through Sunday morning with NNJ favored over SNJ (split at I-195) and natural surfaces favored over roads. Should be a nuisance event.
Sunday (Mar 6) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 40s statewide. Morning snow/mix showers should give way to clearing skies by afternoon. Winds should be light out of the N/NW. Overnight lows should range from the 20s for NNJ elevations to lower-30s for the SNJ coast.
An early look at next week indicates spring weather. Temperatures should begin moderating on Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday-Thursday we should be looking at temperatures in the 60s/70s statewide. Have a great weekend and be safe! JC
