Beautiful Weekend Expected (April 22-24)

Kayaking

Aside from a rainy start, most of the weekend should feature beautiful spring weather. Let’s break it down:

Friday (April 22) high temperatures should reach the 70s for most (maybe just the upper-60s for coastal regions. Skies should be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and possibly thunderstorms. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the SW. Overnight lows should only fall into the 50s as rain/storms continue into Saturday morning.

Saturday (April 23) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 60s statewide. Rain showers should end between early and late AM hours. The rest of the day should feature sun and clouds once everything clears. I’m thinking noon at the absolute latest but more realistically by 9AM. Winds should be light out of the N/NW. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most (30s for NNJ elevations = frost likely).

Sunday (April 24) high temperatures should flirt with 70 inland while the immediate coast tops out around 60. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be very light out of the W for most. The immediate coast could see a light E breeze off the ocean should a sea breeze front develop. I’ll point it out on radar if I see it. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s statewide.

Next week looks even warmer with highs well into the 70s and possibly flirting with 80 away from the ocean. We could however see a decent amount of cloud cover and rain showers given the upper-level pattern. Have a great weekend and be safe! JC
