Another See-Saw Week Expected (April 4-8)

unsettled by jc

The active weather pattern should continue this week. Let’s break it down.

The winds have finally calmed down statewide. Precipitation however is possible later tonight into tomorrow from another passing low pressure system. NNJ could see snowfall, especially elevations, while the rest of the state should see rainfall. That means a line of freezing somewhere away from the ocean but still with a decent part of New Jersey below freezing overnight and into tomorrow.

Monday (April 4) high temperatures should reach the 50s for NNJ elevations and 60s for the rest of New Jersey. Precipitation from Sunday night should continue through a decent part of Monday and possibly not taper off until closer to sunset. Winds should be breezy out of the W/SW, a bit gustier for SNJ. Overnight lows should fall below freezing for most of the state with the exception of maybe extreme SENJ.

Tuesday (April 5) high temperatures should reach the upper-30s/lower-40s (NNJ/SNJ). Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the N/NW. Overnight lows should fall into the teens for NNJ elevations and 20s/30s for the rest of the state.

Wednesday (April 6) high temperatures should reach the upper-40s/lower-50s (NNJ/SNJ). Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be breezy out of the S, a bit gustier along the SENJ coast. Overnight lows should only fall into the 40s statewide.

Thursday (April 7) high temperatures should break 60 statewide. Ran and thunderstorms are possible. Winds should be breezy out of the S/SE, felt moreso along the coast. Overnight lows should fall into the 30s/40s with rain (possibly snow for elevations) possible.

Friday (April 8) high temperatures should reach the mid-40s/lower-50s (NNJ/SNJ). Skies should be mostly cloudy with rain showers possible. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the W/SW. Overnight lows should dip just below freezing for most. Maybe just above freezing for SENJ.

An early look at the weekend indicates more of the same with highs in the 40s/50s and breezy/cooler conditions. Have a great week and be safe! JC
