Colder Pattern Continues
Discussion: We’ll transition from higher heights to lower heights with a cold front Wednesday morning. Tuesday could run up into the 60s in the warm sector but Wednesday and Thursday will likely be colder in the wake of the cold front…N/NW flow with the trough orientation overhead and slightly E of NJ. The climbing sun angle will do it’s best to make daytime/afternoon hours feel warmer than they actually are. But nights will still dip into the 30s. Friday through the Weekend looks dry. I see NW flow but further away from the trough’s coldest pool of air. We’ll be on the back E side of the upperlow. Another ridge will build for Sunday-forward but Fri-Sun looks dry and clear. Pleasant during the day and cool at night. The only significant precip chance this week is along/ahead of the cold front Tuesday PM into Wednesday AM. As of right now the front looks dryer and less stormy but at least some rain. The prolonged colder/transient warmer pattern should continue well into May. Some long range signals indicate ~May 10 as finally breaking into to a prolonged warmer/transient cooler pattern. Just keep in mind, 5 degrees below average should still feel pretty nice in the May 1-10 stretch.
Monday (April 25) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 50s for most areas. Skies should be mostly cloudy with a cool feel. Winds should be light out of the E, breezier along the coast. Overnight lows should hover around ocean temps (~50-52F) as E winds persist.
Tuesday (April 26) high temperatures should reach near-70 for most. Skies should be partly-to-mostly cloudy with showers around, especially for PM hours. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should range from near-40 to near-50 from N to S.
Wednesday (April 27) high temperatures should max in the 50s. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds with a cooler feel. Winds should be breezy out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should fall into the 30s for most which will likely trigger frost advisory interests through Thursday morning.
Thursday (April 28) high temperatures should again max in the 50s. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should be breezy out of the NW. Overnight lows should fall back into the 30s away from the ocean but hang in the 40s along the ocean.
Friday (April 29) high temperatures should reach closer to 60. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the NW. Overnight lows should only fall back into the 30s for NNJ/NWNJ. 40s for everywhere else in NJ.
An early look at the weekend indicates dry and sunny/clear conditions through Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s/50s. Pleasant during the day. Cool at night.
