Gorgeous Fall Conditions (Oct 20-22)
Discussion: The entire weekend will be dominated by a large area of high pressure. This should keep skies sunny during the day and clear at night. As the high pressure slowly drifts from west to east, winds should transition from stationary to southerly. By Monday, the flow should be completely out of the south ahead of an approaching frontal system. That frontal system should bring rain on ~Tuesday followed by cooler temperatures Wednesday through the weekend start.
Friday (Oct 20) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s statewide. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s for most with immediate coastal regions likely hanging in the low-50s.
Saturday (Oct 21) high temperatures should reach the mid-70s for most. Interior CNJ/SNJ might take a run at 80. Skies should be mostly sunny with a warm feel. Winds should be near-stationary. Overnight lows should fall into the 40s away from the ocean. Coastal areas should only fall to the lower-50s.
Sunday (Oct 22) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s statewide. Skies should be partly sunny with a continued warm feel. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should fall into the 50s for most with immediate coastal areas hanging near-60.
An early look at next week indicates more of the same on Monday, a frontal rain system on Tuesday and cooler temperatures Wednesday through about Friday morning. Let’s take another look in a few days. Have a great weekend and please be safe! JC
