Sunset Weather
I’m proud to announce some new features in the Weather NJ mobile application. But first, I’d like to credit the founders of Sunset Weather. They are not only innovative visionaries of the weather community, they are also friends of mine through various weather forums and private weather groups. Congrats to Ben Reppert, Jacob DeFlitch, Steve Hallett and Justin Lowery! You can read all about them here.
They have designed a model for predicting both sunrises and sunsets based on moisture, pressure, cloud cover and other proprietary methods. I have personally tested their model over the last few months and can vouch for extreme rates of accuracy. I love photographing a good sunset and they have helped me out quite a few times. They helped me chase the sunset used in the picture above. They provide case studies as well as definitions for vividness to accompany their services.
With that said, I have added two new tabs to the Weather NJ mobile application: “Sunrise Weather” and “Sunset Weather”. They were nice enough to provide a custom landing page for Weather NJ which includes New Jersey and immediate surrounding areas. That means you are now just two clicks away from knowing how vivid a sunrise or sunset should be (one click to open the Weather NJ app and another to choose sunrise or sunset weather). Again, see the definitions of vividness to understand the color schemes:
You can download the Weather NJ mobile application from the Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android. Sunset Weather is blowing up as many network and national news services are experimenting with using their services. I’m very excited to make these services available to you and I hope they help you out as much as they have helped me. Congrats to the Sunset Weather team and best of luck for a bright future. Be safe! JC
