26th Annual “Chowderfest” Forecast – This Weekend!

It is our great honor to announce that the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce has requested Weather NJ to provide their 2014 LBI Chowderfest forecast! This family fun festival features live music, activities and unlimited Chowder tasting with the opportunity for each ticket holder to vote for their favorite red and white chowder. The event is nestled in Beach Haven surrounded by beautiful views of the bay and plenty of year end discounted shopping.

It has become a tradition for family and friends to gather together to say good bye to summer and welcome in the fall. Always the weekend before Columbus Day Weekend, this year join us on October 4, 2014, for the fabulous Merchant Mart (free admission) where local vendors offer the best deals of the season and Sunday for the Chowder Cook Off Classic. The festival runs both this Saturday and Sunday (October 4th and 5th) in Beach Haven, NJ.  More information about the festival can be found by clicking here.

The initial forecast for the 26th Annual Chowderfest is as follows:

RULES OF ENTRY

• This Contest is rated PG – please remember this a family event
• Your registration form will serve as a waiver, contestants will be photographed and placed on LBI Region social media during the course of the day
• The criteria is for MOST CREATIVE, costumes can be purchased or rented but creativity is the major factor
• You can enter as a group up to four people or individually
• There is no age restriction (Contestants under 18 must be registered by parent)
• For safety reasons, the following is not allowed: live animals with the exception of service animals, prop or actual weapons of any kind, sprays, projectile devices and pyrotechnics of any kind
• Any entry in the Contest cannot be for the purpose of advertising companies, products or events
• The Chowderfest Committee has the right to eliminate any entry from the competition on the basis of taste, danger to the festival attendees or violation of any of the above rules.
• Judges provided by Radio Station and Chowderfest Committee will choose by photographs from registration and winner will be announced during closing award ceremony.
• If winner is not present, Four Pack Fright Fest tickets can be claimed at Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce during regular operating hours from Oct 7-10, 2014

There is no additional fee to enter contest, Chowderfest Cook Off is a ticketed event
